Death of Raider Toran Stirs Emotional Gamut From Sadness to Anger
- Share via
Stacey Toran’s death is a great loss to his family, friends, the Raiders and Raider fans.
His blood-alcohol level was .32. He was not wearing his seat belt. (Police initially reported) he was driving 40-45 m.p.h. in a 35-m.p.h. zone around a curve. He was driving near a motorcyclist. Despite these facts, as accurate as they may be, Toran should be remembered the way he will be by his coaches and teammates.
Toran was an outstanding person. He had extraordinary talent. He wanted to make all-pro. He was human. He made a human mistake and paid for it with his life.
There is no need for the media to criticize his antics.
