Freight Train Kills Pedestrian at Crossing
Afreight train struck and killed a man walking in a railroad crossing Tuesday, the Glendale Police Department reported.
The unidentified man, who appeared to be in his 30s or 40s, was pronounced dead at the scene of the 5:50 p.m. accident, which occurred near Doran Street and San Fernando Road, Sgt. Robert MacLeod said.
The crossing gates had been lowered when the accident occurred, MacLeod said.
