A gang fight late Monday at the Del Mar Fair sent an Oceanside man to the hospital with head injuries, police said.
Arturo Carrillo, 21, was taken by helicopter to Scripps Memorial Hospital in La Jolla, officials said. He was in serious condition Tuesday with a fractured skull, a hospital spokeswoman said.
The fight started at the north side of the Don Diego Tower about 10:35 p.m., and involved Latino gang members from Oceanside and Escondido armed with chains, police said. Investigators have no suspects in the assault, Sheriff’s Sgt. Danny Goodrich said.
