THE SIDELINES : Honors for Yastrzemski, Drysdale
From Times wire services
NEW YORK — Hall of Famers Carl Yastrzemski and Don Drysdale will be honorary captains for the 60th All-Star Game, it was announced today. Yastrzemski, who will be inducted into the Hall next month, is a three-time batting champion and baseball’s last Triple Crown winner, a feat he accomplished in 1967. Drysdale had a string of 58 2/3 consecutive shutout innings in 1968, a major league record that stood until Orel Hershiser hurled 59 shutout innings last year.
