Torrance High Third Baseman Names to All-CIF Team

Torrance High third baseman Antone Williamson, a sophomore who was one of the leading hitters in the South Bay, has been named to the All-CIF Southern Section 5-A baseball team by the First Interstate Bank/Amateur Athletic Foundation board of sportswriters.
Williamson, an All-Bay League choice and a member of The Times South Bay All-Star team, was selected to the second team. He hit .463 with seven doubles, four home runs and 37 RBIs.
The only other Bay League player honored was Beverly Hills center fielder Michael Moore, a first-team pick. Moore batted .409.
Ocean League champion Culver City placed three players on the All-CIF 5-A squad. Outfielder Todd Steverson (.352) and first baseman Tim Mitchell (.448) were first-team choices, while outfielder-pitcher Mauricio Estivel (.448, 44 RBIs) made the second team.
Lakewood third baseman Richardo Gutierrez, who hit .447 with 36 RBIs, was named 5-A Division Player of the Year.
