Three electrical workers were injured Saturday, two critically, when one of them accidentally dropped a tool into a main breaker box at the Lancaster City Hall annex, authorities said.
Five workers were in the electrical room shortly after noon when the accident caused a large electrical explosion, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said.
Max Flack, 40, and Gary Jennings, 36, both of Palmdale, suffered second- and third-degree burns and were flown by helicopter from Antelope Valley Hospital Medical Center to the burn center at Torrance Memorial Hospital Medical Center, authorities said. A third worker suffered minor burns and refused treatment, authorities said.
