The jury considering six murder charges against David Lucas ended their fifth day of deliberations Friday without reaching a verdict.
The San Diego Superior Court jury will resume their discussions on Monday.
Lucas, 33, of Spring Valley, is charged with killing four adults and two children between 1979-1984. All of the victims had their throats slashed.
Earlier in the week, the jury requested to rehear testimony from experts on various subjects during the five-month trial.
The slaying victims include Anne Swanke, Gayle Garica, Suzanne and Colin Jacobs, Rhonda Strang and Amber Fisher.
Lucas is also charged with trying to murder Jodie Santiago Robertson, who survived a throat slashing in 1984 and testified that he was her attacker.
