Gallo Heeds ‘Safe-Sober’ Group: E. & J. Gallo Winery announced it will stop, “for six months,” selling its two brands of cheap high-alcohol wine in San Francisco’s Tenderloin neighborhood. The action came after Tenderloin area distributor Gallo-Bay Cities, a Gallo-owned business, met with “Safe and Sober Streets” activists, who recently kicked off a public protest of the sales of the wino brands in their district.
