Today marks the celebration of Memorial Day, a day to honor and remember those who died in the nation’s wars.
Closed: All government offices, courts, banks, post offices, stock and commodity exchanges, libraries, schools and many businesses. RTD buses will follow Sunday schedules.
Celebrations: A restored Civil War cannon will be fired for the first time in decades during services at the Veterans Administration Los Angeles National Cemetery. Services also will be held at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Long Beach, Hollywood Memorial Park Cemetery, Lincoln Memorial Park Cemetery in Carson and Riverside National Cemetery.
