Graduation ceremonies for the following universities were held Saturday.
Biola University awarded degrees to 412 students and featured radio personality David Hocking, who heads the Biola Hour broadcasts and is pastor of Calvary Church in Santa Ana, as the keynote speaker at its 81st commencement. Hocking was awarded an honorary degree, along with muralist Kent Twitchell, who organized the 1984 Olympic Mural Project.
The University of Redlands celebrated its 80th commencement in the Alumni Greek Amphitheatre. Degrees were conferred on 237 students by James R. Appleton, president of the university. Margaret B. Wilkerson, professor of theater in Afro-American studies at UC Berkeley and a Redlands alumna, delivered the commencement address.
