NEW YORK — Scottie Pippen of the Chicago Bulls was fined $3,000 and Kenny Walker of the New York Knicks $1,500 for their fight during the sixth game of their NBA Eastern Conference semifinal playoff series, the league announced today.
The fight occurred late in the third quarter of the Bulls’ 113-111 victory over the Knicks, which eliminated New York from the playoffs last Friday. Both players were ejected from the game.
Pippen was fined the larger amount for initiating the fight, said Rod Thorn, NBA vice president for operations.
