SEOUL — The government announced a breakthrough in trade negotiations with the United States today, saying it had headed off threatened sanctions from Washington.
Trade Minister Han Seung Soo told reporters at a news conference: “The United States agreed to exclude South Korea in a list of Priority Foreign Countries.” U.S. Trade Representative Carla Anderson Hills is to designate PFC nations, deemed using unfair practices, by May 30.
