Northridge Signs Guard From Buena

Joan Weinerth, a point guard from Buena High, has signed a letter of intent to attend Cal State Northridge, where she will play for the women’s basketball team.

Weinerth, a two-time Times All-Ventura County selection, averaged 19 points a game last season and helped Buena to a 22-4 record and the Channel League championship. The 5-foot-6 guard led the team in scoring, assists (5.4) and ball recoveries (4.9).
