The Oak Tree Racing Assn. offered up to $200,000 to the California Horse Racing Board to expedite implementation of equine drug testing and supervision.
The association conducts an autumn racing season at Santa Anita and earmarks its profits for beneficial projects in horse racing.
The money is being offered with a request that the program be started under the guidance of the Blue Ribbon Committee, a group representing all segments of horse racing, which recently recommended action to counteract revelations of illegal drugs in horses racing in California.
