Grant 12, North Hollywood 9--Grant’s Jeff Boado was five for five with two runs scored, two RBIs and three stolen bases to lead Grant (15-4, 12-3).
Javier Delahoya had two hits and three RBIs and Manny Toledo added two hits and two RBIs.
North Hollywood center fielder Duane Braxton hit a three-run home run in the bottom of the seventh.
WEST VALLEY LEAGUE
El Camino Real 12, Taft 4--Pat Treend and Ryan McGuire homered during a six-run first inning as El Camino Real (9-7) won its eighth consecutive game.
Chatsworth 8, Canoga Park 6--Starter Jason Evans left in the fifth inning with a seven-run lead, but re-entered in the sixth to preserve his own win at Chatsworth.
TRACK
City Section quarterfinals--Robin Kim of Canoga Park qualified for next Thursday’s semifinals in the boys’ 100 (11.01 seconds) and the 200 (22.26). He also anchored the Hunters’ 400 relay team to a season best of 42.57.
Obed Aguirre of San Fernando finished third in the boys’ 1,600 meters in 4 minutes, 26.35 seconds and won the 3,200 in 9:34.92.
Melanie Clarke of El Camino Real qualified in the high jump, the 400, long jump and shotput.
