Two Chula Vista motorists were seriously injured Thursday after a head-on collision on East H Street, authorities said.
Chula Vista police said that Ronald Etling, 23, crossed over the center line and crashed into a car driven by Anita Lopez, 55, at about 2:45 p.m.
The California Highway Patrol shut both H street ramps onto Interstate 805 for about 45 minutes so that Life Flight could take the victims to UC San Diego Medical Center.
Etling was listed in fair condition with neck injuries, and Lopez was in serious condition with arm, leg and head injuries, a hospital spokeswoman said.
