Frank Palminteri, basketball coach at Villa Park High School for three years, has resigned. Palminteri, 38, has been a part-time history and physical education instructor since he was hired in 1986.
Palminteri said he is resigning because he was not guaranteed a teaching job next year.
“The future did not look good,” Palminteri said.
Villa Park finished 9-15 this year with only one victory in the Century League, but it was the highest victory total in 10 years at the school. Villa Park has not had a winning record in 14 years.
