From Associated Press
SOUTH BEND, Ind. — Developers Edward J. DeBartolo and his son, Edward J. DeBartolo Jr., have donated $33 million to the University of Notre Dame, one of the largest gifts ever made to an American university.
Most of the money will be spent in construction of a computer-equipped classroom building and a performing arts center, university board Chairman Donald R. Keough said Thursday. Both DeBartolos are graduates of Notre Dame.
