Anaheim : Anaheim Man Arrested in Traffic Fatality
An Anaheim man was held without bail today on manslaughter and drunk-driving charges after allegedly running over and killing a man who was changing a tire on the Antelope Valley Freeway in the Newhall area.
William Broderick, 30, was driving north on the freeway, about 9 p.m. Wednesday when he drifted off to the right and onto the shoulder of the freeway near the Sand Canyon Road exit, allegedly striking a Ford Pinto and the car’s driver, California Highway Patrol Officer Thomas Tilman said.
Carlos Jimenez, 33, of Hollywood, who had stopped to change a flat tire, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The suspect fled the scene on foot but was later arrested.
