POP LP CHART : Madonna’s ‘Prayer’ Single Slips
Madonna’s “Like a Prayer” album is No. 1 on the Billboard magazine pop chart for the fourth straight week, but her “Like a Prayer” single slipped to No. 2 on the pop singles chart--ousted by Bon Jovi’s “I’ll Be There for You.” The new album by Lisa-Lisa, “Straight to the Sky,” debuted low--at No. 146--but it looks to be headed straight for the upper regions of the pop chart. Look for it to take a mighty jump next week. “In Your Face,” by the Zeppelin sound-a-like outfit Kingdom Come, debuted at No. 64 and is Top-20-bound.
* Faster than a hungry shark chasing its prey, Great White--those rowdy heavy-metallers--is racing up the pop chart, to No. 33 in two weeks, with this “Twice Shy” album.
