Friends Meet: The Friends of Newport Bay will have its annual meeting Friday at the Museum of Natural History and Science in Newport Beach, 2627 Vista del Oro. The meeting will begin at 7 p.m. and will feature a speaker on marine pollution. It is open to the public.
Open House: The Irvine Animal Care Center, which works with injured wildlife as well as domestic pets, will have an open house Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tours will be led, and more than 20 wildlife organizations from all over the state will have display booths. Early Birds: Oak Canyon Nature Center in Anaheim Hills will offer a bird-watching walk at 8 a.m. Saturday, with a talk on birds afterward at 10. Information: (714) 998-8380.
