Leeuwenburgh Chosen Mayor
The Rolling Hills City Council has selected Councilwoman Ginny Leeuwenburgh mayor and Councilman Thomas Heinsheimer mayor pro tem.
Leeuwenburgh, a community volunteer who has been on the council since 1982, said she will leave office next year.
“I look forward to spending my last year on the council as mayor,” Leeuwenburgh said. She said the eight years she will have spent on the council “is enough.”
She said the key issue before the council is “to maintain the city’s rural atmosphere.” The council has an established rotation system for mayor and council members, and it was Leeuwenburgh’s and Heinsheimer’s turn for the ceremonial positions. Both have previously served as mayor.
