Natural Violence

I have a message for Robin Hellier: There are people out here whose idea of good television isn’t equated with how much “action,” i.e. kills, is depicted.
Don’t bother to fill in pretaped segments of drowning wildebeests or of wild dogs hacking an antelope to pieces. We would be quite satisfied to sit and look at untrammeled nature, animals doing “nothing,” unspoiled land and no poachers, for an hour if need be, without turning channels.
For gore, if we crave it, all we need do is look around our own city. I’ll take a lion lazing on a tree stump any time.
