Red Cars

Can we get the County Transportation Commission to adopt a bright red color for the new Los Angeles-Long Beach light-rail line? Those who have seen the San Diego trolley know it is eye-catching and attractive--good for both safety and publicity.
It would be an appropriate tribute, and a continuation of local history. There is still widespread good feeling for the Red Car system, once the world’s largest, and some would say, the best. They ran for over half a century on this same route (with minor changes) to Long Beach.
As a passenger on the last Red Car to Long Beach in 1961, I look forward to riding the first new one in the near future.
