Steel Conference to Begin: Executives and engineers of the American steel industry will get a substantial dose of production technology from overseas at a three-day steel trade conference that begins today. Organizers of the Assn. of Iron and Steel Engineers’ spring conference have arranged 21 presentations featuring speakers from outside the United States. These will feature steel industry leaders from Japan, Canada and Western Europe. In return, the foreign visitors will have an opportunity to find out what is new in American steel technology. The foreign speakers will discuss such topics as computer-controlled steel rolling, electrogalvanizing technology improvements and strip mills.
