Richard Long, owner-skipper of the yacht Flyer, is the new owner of The Los Angeles Times Trophy, given by the Los Angeles Yacht Club to the winner of a five-race series for Performance Handicap Racing Fleet yachts.
The Times Trophy is the oldest yachting prize in California, donated by the late Harrison Gray Otis in 1903 “to the gallant yachtsmen of the Pacific Coast.”
