THE PREPS : Roundup : Savanna’s Lee Establishes School Record in Discus

Karina Lee of Savanna High School set a school record in the discus as the Rebels defeated Anaheim, 86-30, in an Orange League girls’ track and field meet Tuesday at Savanna.

Lee’s throw of 113 feet, 6 1/2 inches broke her school record by 10 feet.

In another Orange League girls’ meet:

Valencia 96, Brea-Olinda 30--Heather Killeen ran 11:50.2 to win the two-mile race for host Valencia.

In an Orange League boys’ meet:

Valencia 114, Brea-Olinda 21--Eric Whitcomb jumped 14 feet to win the pole vault for host Valencia.

In Garden Grove League golf:

Garden Grove 192, Los Amigos 230--Ken Wertzberger shot a one-under-par 34 for Garden Grove at Willowick golf course.

In Orange League golf:

Brea-Olinda 184, Magnolia 244--Jeff Banks shot a two-under-par 33 to lead Brea at Dad Miller golf course in Anaheim.

In Pacific Coast League golf:

Orange 191, Costa Mesa 222--Rocky Mounce and Donny Besser of Orange each shot a three-over-par 36 at Santiago golf course. Orange is 5-0 and Costa Mesa is 0-5 in league play.

Trabuco Hills 211, Laguna Hills 215--Mark Christensen shot a one-under-par 35 for Trabuco Hills at Pacific Golf Club in San Clemente.

In Sea View League golf:

University 196, Newport Harbor 219--Byung Park and Treg Miller shot one-over-par 38s to lead University at Costa Mesa golf Course.

Corona del Mar 192, Tustin 245--Sophomore Johan Tatch shot a par 36 at Rancho San Joaquin in Irvine to lead Corona del Mar to its 10th consecutive match victory in Sea View League play.

In South Coast League golf:

Dana Hills 410, Capistrano Valley 443--Scott Richardson shot a four-over-par 76 for Dana Hills at El Niguel Country Club.

Irvine 209, San Clemente 221--Ted Baker shot a par 36 at Pacifica Country Club.

In Sunset League golf:

Ocean View 405, Fountain Valley 425--Ocean View’s Mike Holmes shot a four-over-par 76 at Mile Square Golf Course.

Huntington Beach 410, Edison 433--Grant Callaghan shot a five-over-par 77 to lead Huntington Beach at Seacliff Country Club.

In nonleague golf:

Valencia 390, Diamond Bar 404--Chris Tidland shot a one-over-par 73 to lead Valencia at Alta Vista County Club.

Katella 233, Orange Lutheran 238--Mike Francis of Orange Lutheran and Matt Lightner of Katella each shot a 40 on the par-36 course at Green River Country Club.
