NATION : Oral Roberts’ Plea Falls Flat

TULSA, Okla. —  Evangelist Richard Roberts said today the small response to his father’s plea for $11 million has left his stomach “tied up in knots.”

His father, Oral Roberts, said recently he needs $11 million by May 6 to prevent the financial collapse of his ministry, which includes Oral Roberts University and a hospital as well as television and mission programs. Richard Roberts said he is dismayed that the ministry’s “prayer partners” responded with only about $1 million by last Friday. “My stomach is just tied up in knots over this,” he said.
