Kraft Buys Cheese Plant: Kraft USA Corp. has agreed to buy the Central Valley Dairy Product Corp.’s processed cheese plant in Tulare. The sale price was reportedly more than $20 million although terms were not disclosed. Kraft also plans to spend $5 million to expand the cheese plant and boost employment at the facility from 80 workers to 350 workers during the next year. Processed cheese production will be expanded, and a cheese cut-and-wrap operation will be added.
