Results from Soviet parliamentary elections March 26 show 274 seats still undecided, with a second round of voting due in the next few weeks, the Tass news agency reported. In those contests where more than two candidates were running and no one got 50% of the vote, a second round will be held April 9 between the two leading vote-getters. For seats where there were only one or two candidates, and no one won the necessary 50%, a new election with different candidates will take place May 14. Despite electoral setbacks for some senior Communist Party officials, Tass said 87.6% of those elected to the new 2,250-member Congress of People’s Deputies were party members.
