Events in the news this week.
Country-rock band Alabama will perform Friday at the Pacific Amphitheatre in Costa Mesa, the first concert at the facility since operators agreed to install a new digital sound system in an attempt to confine concert noise and end a 6-year dispute with neighbors of the outdoor venue. The new system will cost $180,000 a year to lease. Other upcoming shows include heavy metal bands Poison and Tesla on Saturday, and pop star Rod Stewart April 14 and 15.
