The burned body of William Leroy Roy Tyner, a stock-car race driver from 1957 until 1970, was found in a charred truck in Conover, N.C., the victim of a self-inflicted gunshot wound, investigators said.
“Due to the nature and location of the wound, it was ruled self-inflicted,” Conover police Capt. Gary Lafone said. He did not say how the truck caught fire.
