Brian Townsley, an All-Los Angeles City wide receiver for the University High School team last fall, was named a 1989 scholar-athlete by the National Football Foundation and Hall of Fame Inc., according to University Coach Brad Ratcliff.
Ratcliff said that Townsley, a Times All-Westside second-team selection, expects to sign a letter of intent soon, probably with California or UC Davis. He said that defensive back Richard Talley, who was named to the All-Westside first team, has signed a letter of intent with Cal State Fullerton.
Winners in the Rancho Park Men’s Golf Club’s match-play President’s Cup were Warren Pittman in the A flight, Aaron Lipsky in B and Edward Levine in C.
