College Women’s Basketball : Irvine Scores 64-50 Win Over Santa Barbara

Natasha Parks had 18 points and 10 rebounds to lead UC Irvine to a 64-50 victory over UC Santa Barbara Saturday night in a Big West Conference women’s basketball game at Irvine.
Shurrell Johnson added 16 points and eight rebounds for Irvine (7-16 overall, 3-11 in conference play). Barbara Beainy led Santa Barbara with 18 points.
In the Golden State Athletic Conference:
Azusa Pacific 88, Southern California College 48--Center Amy Walter scored 32 points and grabbed 11 rebounds to lead host Azusa Pacific (19-9, 9-2). Guard Roxanne Trost and forward Lori Halliday each had 12 points for Southern California College (5-22, 1-9).
In the Big West Conference:
Nevada Las Vegas 78, Cal State Fullerton 73--Kathy Werth scored a season-high 26 points for Fullerton (18-6, 10-5), which dropped from third to fifth. Gennine Jordan scored 19 points and her twin sister, Pauline Jordan, had 16 points, to lead Las Vegas (20-4, 10-4).
In a nonconference game:
Occidental 75, Christ College Irvine 69 (OT)--Christ College tied the score, 61-61, with 2 seconds left on a jumper by Meg Nitz, but Donna Joslin fouled out early in overtime, leaving injury-plagued Christ College with only four players. Occidental then outscored Christ College, 14-8, in overtime. Joslin led Christ College (7-20) with 15 points.
