Orlando Cepeda, 51, a two-time National League most valuable player who played for the San Francisco Giants and five other teams in his 17-year major league career, was named as the Giants’ special assistant for player development.
Among his duties will be working with minor league players in spring camps and going to the Dominican winter camp.
