CPC International’s earnings fell 18.5% to $289 million in 1988. Revenue for 1988 rose 15.7% to $4.7 billion. The Englewood Cliffs, N.J.-based company, maker of Hellmann’s mayonnaise, Mazola corn oil and Skippy peanut butter, noted that there was a special restructuring gain of $126 million in 1987 and that year-to-year operating profit was 26.3% higher.
