Anheuser-Busch Cos.’ 1988 net income rose 16.5% to $715.9 million on sales of $9.71 billion, up 6.5% from 1987. The St. Louis-based company attributed its performance largely to the growth of brewer Anheuser-Busch Inc. and to higher profitability of several other subsidiaries, especially its Campbell Taggart diversified food products unit and Busch Entertainment Corp., which recorded its highest theme park attendance ever in 1988.
