SDSU Tops Northridge in Men’s Volleyball

Cal State Northridge, baffled by the serves of San Diego State, fell to the Aztecs, 15-11, 15-9, 9-15, 15-5, Saturday night in a Western Intercollegiate Volleyball Assn. match at SDSU.
The Aztecs served 9 aces in the match and kept CSUN off balance with their change-of-speed serves.
Cesar Mata had 4 aces and Sean Clark and Mike Mattarocci each had 2 for SDSU (2-1, 2-0 in conference play).
Middle hitter Rafael Tulino had 16 kills in 19 attempts and outside hitter Bob Samuelson had a match-high 25 kills for CSUN (2-3, 0-3).
