WASHINGTON — First Lady Barbara Bush has raised doubts about the pregnancy of her springer spaniel Millie. “Of course, we think so. I haven’t checked yet,” she said in an interview.
She said mail has poured in from people wanting one of the nation’s “first dog” puppies since her husband announced, perhaps prematurely, that Millie was pregnant.
Mrs. Bush said: “I am writing people saying they are all promised.” She said the puppies, when and if, will be given to her children.
