A 51-year-old man was killed Wednesday morning when his car collided head-on with a semi-trailer truck, authorities said.
Deputy Coroner Ken Bell said the car was traveling south on Interstate 15 at 11:20 a.m. near the Escondido Expressway and Champagne Boulevard when it crossed the dirt center divider and collided with the northbound truck.
The driver of the car, identified at August W. Berger of Yorba Linda, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the truck was not injured.
