Virginia M. Ueberroth, a Laguna Beach financial adviser, has been elected to the board of directors of First American Financial Corp. in Santa Ana and to the board of its principal subsidiary, First American Title Insurance Co. After leaving her first career as a schoolteacher, Ueberroth embarked on a business career that led to corporate positions in companies involved in real estate, farming, business development and construction. She was also chief financial officer of First Travel Corp., a large Van Nuys travel company. She is the third new director elected by First American since it expanded its board seats last year to up to 17 seats from a maximum of 14. First American previously added Newport Beach developer George Argyros and San Francisco investor Roslyn Payne, and now has 16 directors. Ueberroth is the wife of Peter Ueberroth, the major league baseball commissioner.
