Priest Charged With Episcopal Funds Theft

ALLENDALE, N.J. — An Episcopal priest has been charged with stealing $66,115 from two church bank accounts within the last two years, prosecutors said Tuesday.
The Rev. Gerald A. Riley, 45, rector of the Church of the Epiphany in Allendale, was arrested on charges of theft by deception and forgery and surrendered to the Bergen County prosecutor’s office Jan. 11, officials said. He was released on his own recognizance, they said.
