Regarding the column “The Trickle-Down Presidency” (Editorial Page, Jan. 7), either there is a typographical error or Prof. Henry Graff should brush up on his American history.
Martin Van Buren was not just “the 7th President.” He followed Washington, Adams, Jefferson, Madison, Monroe, Quincy Adams and Jackson. Thus, he was our 8th President.
