In Brief : Bucknell Football Coach Resigns
From Times wire services
LEWISBURG, Pa. — Bucknell University football coach George Landis announced his immediate resignation today after three years, citing “inequalities” in the Colonial League.
“Some of the inequalities in the Colonial League have been ongoing frustrations for me. They may be growing pains but they have been daily frustrations for me,” Landis said.
He also said he has no plans for the immediate future.
Director of Athletics Rick Hartzell said Landis’ departure “is a great personal loss to me, and I did everything I could to convince him to stay.”
Hartzell announced that assistant head coach Lou Maranzana will serve as interim head coach and that a national search for a successor to Landis will begin immediately.
