SINGAPORE — A Monaco body builder has been suspended for one year after testing positive for steroids in a Singapore competition, an official of the International Federation of Body Builders (IFBB) said today.
Seggiaro Philippe, 20, was also stripped of his bronze medal in the World Junior/Masters Championship after results of urine tests taken during the competition last month and analyzed in West Germany were received recently by the IFBB, federation executive board member Paul Chua said.
“Philippe only admits now he took steroids six months ago on medical grounds. If he had admitted it sooner, we might have considered the case differently,” said Chua, who is also president of the Singapore Amateur Body Builders’ Federation.
