High School Basketball : Crespi Proves No Match for Loyola, 84-67
- Share via
Crespi High could have used some help from former Celts Paul Mokeski and Joe Carrabino on Tuesday night when it met defending Del Rey League champion Loyola.
Mokeski, a 7-footer playing with the Milwaukee Bucks, and the 6-10 Carrabino, who played professionally in Italy, might have made a difference against Loyola’s 6-10 junior center Ryan Jamison, who recorded a double-double in leading the Cubs to an 84-67 Del Rey victory in boys’ basketball.
Jamison had 22 points, 22 rebounds and 4 blocked shots for Loyola (15-2, 4-0), ranked No. 4 in the Southern Section by The Times.
Loyola broke the game open with a 15-1 run just before halftime, building a 42-27 lead at intermission. The Cubs outscored Crespi, 12-4, to open the third period.
Chris McGee led Crespi (7-9, 2-2) with 23 points. Matt Luderer and Brady each added 12 points.
