Prosecutors in Norman, Okla., charged University of Oklahoma cornerback Jerry Parks with shooting with intent to injure after a teammate was wounded during an argument in an athletes’ dormitory.
University spokeswoman Catherine Bishop said Parks and offensive lineman Zarak Peters had apparently argued over possession of a cassette tape before the early morning shooting.
Peters was in stable condition in the intensive care unit at Norman Regional Hospital with a bullet wound to the left chest, a hospital spokeswoman said.
Parks was suspended from the team and university. A judge set bond at $10,000 and agreed to let Parks return to his home in Fort Bend, Tex.
