PREP BASKETBALL : Ocean View, Mater Dei Play Again Tonight

Mater Dei High School will try to continue its domination of Ocean View when the teams play in a nonleague boys’ basketball game tonight at 8 at Ocean View.
Mater Dei (17-2) has won 185 games in 7 seasons under Coach Gary McKnight, including all 4 games against Ocean View. In their most recent meeting, Mater Dei held Ocean View scoreless for nearly 8 minutes in a 58-43 victory in the championship game of the Tournament of Champions Dec. 17. Ocean View made only 12 of 39 shots in that game.
Ocean View (11-5), has struggled to a 5-5 record since losing to Mater Dei, but Coach Jim Harris has switched from a 3-guard offense to a power game with center Todd Norman.
Norman is averaging 21 points and 11 rebounds and is shooting 67% from the field.
