A mild offshore earthquake shook western Santa Barbara County, but there were no reports of injuries or damage. The magnitude-4.3 quake was centered 11 miles northwest of Point Conception, according to seismologists at Caltech in Pasadena. Several offshore oil platforms are in the area of the quake, but the Coast Guard said it did not receive any reports of damage or problems.
