Associated Press
INDIANAPOLIS — The Indiana Pacers scheduled a news conference this morning and were expected to name Dick Versace their new head coach.
Versace, an assistant coach for the Detroit Pistons and former head coach at Bradley University, arrived in Indianapolis Wednesday night and was expected to take over for interim coach George Irvine for Friday night’s game here against the Clippers.
The Indianapolis Star reported that Versace and the Pacers (6-23) agreed on a contract Wednesday afternoon.
